Learn the essentials of woodworking from a master craftsman.  The class will focus on the teaching you the tools and techniques needed to create with wood - either by hand or using our extensive machine woodworking shop.  This class is appropriate for beginner or novice woodworkers.

Each week will feature instruction on important skills - tool sharpening and maintenance, choosing the right wood, flattening boards, joinery, making your own tools and accessories, etc.

It will also include time for project work - starting with small guided projects such as making a toolbox.  Over the last four sessions of the class, students will be able to choose their own projects to work on, and will receive one-on-one instruction on the unique elements of their project.

About the instructor: Paul Tuller has been designing and building custom furniture and architectural elements for more than 35 years. The majority of his work is inspired by traditional Japanese design and made using Japanese hand tools. From his workshop in Southwestern New Hampshire, Paul has created interior spaces and furnishings that have been installed throughout New England and as far away as Florida and California. http://www.paultuller.com/  In 2018 he received the Ewing Award for Folk and Traditional Arts.
