Learn the basics of sewing in this beginner class series. Instructor Leeni Gravlin-Dunn will help you get comfortable behind a sewing machine as you learn techniques through simple skill-building projects. This class covers machine operation, needle and thread types, cutting tools, techniques for specific fabric types, finishing techniques, and safety precautions.
Following the class series, students will have access to two free open studio dates (11/17 and 11/24) to help hone their skills and have questions answered.
About the Instructor: Leeni is a graduate of The Worcester Center for Crafts, Professional Craft Program, Fiber Concentration and earned a Master of Education from Fitchburg State University. She has been sewing garments since the age of 10, and has experience in clothing alterations (including bridal wear),quilting, quilt: repair/ history/dating / documentation/appraisal. Leeni is also experienced in knitting, crochet, needlepoint, cross stitch, weaving, dying and surface design.
